At the end of the 80s the strip album of Merho ‘Het witte bloed’ (White Blood) was filmed. Originally Merho and his brother Walter wanted to make a musical, but later they thought on making a TV-serie. Finally it became one long movie and the film was sold on buy-video.

The actors were chosen by their physical resemblance with the strip heroes:
Dirk Bosschaert played the main role of Marcel Kiekeboe.
Other characters were played by:
Annemie Gils (as Charlotte), Anne Somers (as Fanny) en Ynte Gilis (as Konstantinopel).
Some guestrolls were played by known people: Ann Ceurvels (as Mona), Frans Van De Velde (as Sapperdeboere), Luc Philips (as grandpa Van Hikkel), Jenny Tanghe, Riet Van Gool (as Lady Van der Neffe), etc.

The scenario followed rather strictly the story line of the album.

The story: The camper-terrain where the family Kiekeboe remains, appears not to be a usual camp ground. Kiekeboe only meets known people there. He is seduced by the gorgeous Mona. Mikal, the shy new friend of Fanny, lives there with his grandfather-vampire. And in the neighborhood, a hospital makes white artificial blood.

The première took place on 28 October 1994 in the Stadsschouwburg (City Theater) of Antwerp. And they did 80 performances, with almost 200.000 visitors. Because of this success, they decided to continue the musical in the Netherlands in the theater of Rotterdam; where the last performance was on 29 October 1995.

Jerom

The story: professor Barabas works at a new invention: the ‘startapper’, a machine to talk with stars and comets. The invention isn’t yet totally ready, but curious Wiske can’t wait to try the apparatus. Ofcourse it goes totally wrong. Krimson, the bad guy, is also present, meaner as ever.

Pinokkio Robin Hood Ben The Musical

'Wizzy & Woppy' is a brand-new child TV-serie about two mice that live in a pet store and each evening the strangest adventure happens. The main rolls in this acted animal-serie is interpreted by Barbara De Jonge (as Wizzy the mouse), Carl Ridders (as Woppy the mouse), Dirk Bosschaert (as Dongo the turtle)and Hans Van Cauwenberghe (as Kasha the parrot). It is a program from production house Studio 100 in order of Ketnet (Belgian television).

Wizzy & Woppy are two mice: Wizzy is the female and Woppy the male mouse. They live together in a cage in the pet store. In the other cages lives Kasha the parrot and Dongo the turtle. Wizzy & Woppy is a live action-series. The pets are played by actors with masks, costumes and wigs. To respect the normale proportions of all the sceneries and stage-properties, everything is scaled ten times larger. In the start Mr Bram, the pet sellesman, leaves his store, and the story begins. The pets leave their cages and have the dullest adventures. The pets speak in their own not-understandable language, and there is no narrator.
Wizzy & Woppy wants to attract the smallest kids, but also the 8-years old. The stories are quite visual and understandable. Each episode is a complete story and lasts five minutes
.

‘Piet Pirate' is a newly Flemish child TV-serie, also a production of Studio 100 (like Samson & Gert, Gnome Plop, etc.).

The serie brings on daily base a complete story of 5 minutes. The stories have been written by Gert Verhulst, Hans Bourlon and Danny Verbiest.

In the casting we find Peter Van De Velde (as Piet Piraat, the captain), Dirk Bosschaert (as Berend Brokkenpap, the cook), Anke Helsen (as Stien Strijs, the maid) and Dirk Van Vooren (as Steven Still, a deaf sailor).

The red line in each story is the quest for the large treasure of Karel Karolus Piraat, his great-grandfather. Piet Pirate has intended to find the treasure and for that reason he has built a pirate-ship ‘De Scheve Schuit' (The oblique Barge). Piet Pirate and his crew sail around the world trying to find a large white rock, where the treasure is hidden in the neighbourhood.
